My back gate is 48 in. wide — the 50 FAB wouldn't fit and the 46 FAB slides through with room. Everything else is the same tractor — same Kohler V-twin, same Tuff Torq, same cast-iron axle. Cut is beautiful and I don't have to open the double gate every time. Perfect fit for my yard.

I looked at the Cub Cadet XT1 46-in — cheaper up front but the front axle is aluminum. On my property with roots and rocks I wanted cast iron. Two seasons in, axle is tight, no play, no wear. Worth every dollar.
Belt needed a small tension adjustment around hour 10 — 10-minute fix per the manual. Since then no issues at all. Cut, engine, ride are all excellent. Would buy again over the Husqvarna I cross-shopped.
T40 shifts smoother than the K46 in my old tractor, doesn't groan on grades, holds ground speed downhill. Big upgrade for a rolling property. Worth the money to get the heavier-duty transaxle.
St. Augustine is thick and normally lugs single-cylinder tractors. Kohler V-twin doesn't blink. Fab deck cuts clean, disperses clippings well, no clumps. Perfect Southern-yard tractor.
46-in deck is the goldilocks size for me — bigger than the 42 for speed, smaller than the 50 for gates and trim work. Kohler V-twin has power to spare. Would recommend to anyone with a 1.5-2 acre yard.
About 55 hours on it. Oil change and blade sharpen every spring — that's the total maintenance. Belt looks new. This tractor is going to be my last one for a long time.
Great tractor. Only minor gripe is the parking brake pedal is stiff for the first few hours. Fine now. Cast-iron axle and 5-year frame warranty were the tipping point over the Cub Cadet.
Auto-choke Kohler fires on the first turn, cold or hot. Even after sitting all winter — first turn of the key. My old B&S single would take five minutes of choke wiggling. Big upgrade.
Lots of trees, some real slopes. Kohler holds RPM up every grade. Cast-iron axle takes root bumps in stride. 46-in fab deck cuts cleaner than anything I've owned. Solid tractor for a rural property.
So many corners on my yard where I used to have to loop around. Push the button, back up while cutting, done. Between that and the tight 18-in turning radius I overlap way less than my old tractor.
Kohler smooth, hydro smooth, fab deck excellent. The 15-in high-back seat is fine for an hour but I'd love lumbar for the full 2-acre mow. Might upgrade the seat this fall. Otherwise 5 stars.
Truck showed up on the scheduled day, tractor rolled off assembled and gassed. Driver walked me through the cruise, reverse mow, and hydro pedals. Cut my front yard by lunch. Free curbside made the deal.
