I looked at the Ariens IKON, the Cub Cadet ZT1, and the Toro TimeCutter. Bought the Z315E for the Deere warranty (3 years, 200 hours) and the fact it's built in Tennessee. First mow on 1.75 acres — 42-minute cut where my old tractor took 90. Accel Deep deck lifts the grass and cuts it once, not twice. No streaks, no clumps.

Being able to raise the deck with my foot to cross a gravel path or driveway without stopping is the small feature that matters most. On my old tractor I had to stop, lean over, pull the lever. Now it's one motion.
For a 2-hour mow I would love armrests standard at this price. Deere sells them as an add-on. Otherwise, zero complaints — cuts great, drives great, feels like a real machine. Would still buy again.

The mower itself is 5 stars. Home Depot took a week longer than promised to schedule delivery. Once it arrived, fully assembled, gassed up, ready to mow. Deere warranty registered in the app in 3 minutes.
Ordered online, free curbside delivery, showed up on the scheduled day. That saved me a truck rental and a helper. Fired on the first turn, mowed 1.5 acres by dinner. Very smooth transaction.
My previous tractor took 2 hours to cut what the Z315E does in 55 minutes. 7 mph is fast but the Accel Deep deck still looks like a striper cut behind you. Fuel economy is better than my old tractor too.
About 60 hours on it. One oil change, one blade sharpen. Everything else is factory-fresh. This machine is going to outlast most of what's parked next to it at the dealer.
Local Deere dealer supports the warranty, stocks parts, and picks up for service if I need it. That is worth $500 over the box-store brands to me. The Z315E happens to also be a fantastic mower. Win-win.
Only minor gripe — 11-in front casters kick a little dust in a drought. Zero issue in normal conditions. Cut quality, speed, warranty, engine, deck — all excellent. Would recommend to anyone with 1–2 acres.
I have a moderately hilly property. Dual hydros hold speed downhill without runaway, climb without lugging. Lap bars give you way more control on a slope than a steering wheel ever did. Feel very safe on it.
Not a rebadged import. Welds, paint, cast parts, cable routing — all Deere quality. The engine is a Deere-branded 40 EXi, deck bolts are torque-marked, and the manual is thick and clear. Feels like a $5,000 mower at $3,400.
